Puto Maya/Putong Malagkit
2C sweet rice
1Tbsp black rice(optional,to add color)
1C canned coconut milk
1thumb-size ginger, crushed
3Tbsp. brown sugar
1tsp. salt
*Combine coconut milk,ginger,sugar and salt.
*Simmer for 2-3mins.
*Strain the mixture and then cool completely.
*Add sticky rice and black rice to the mixture.
*Soak the sticky rice and coconut milk mixture for at least 4hrs.
*Steam the mixture for 30mins to start.
*Mix from time to time.
*Continue cooking until it is totally cooked. Mine took 1hr.total.
Suggestion:
You might want to add a 1/4C more of coconut milk to shorten the cooking time.
